Company Brands and Logos Cardiff
Your brand is more than just a logo identity; it’s the complete visual display of your company or service. This affects everything from the colour scheme, imagery and typography through to the layout and positioning across all of your print and digital collateral. Thankfully I’ve got just the ticket whether you already have an existing identity you need me to work with or you are looking for some fresh and exciting ideas. I can work with you to develop a set of branding guidelines that will ensure you have a well-structured and eye-catching visual appearance.
A logo is more than just a picture.
It’s a living, breathing entity! Well ok that might be a slight exaggeration but your logo does have a conversation with its viewer. It speaks volumes about how you represent your organisation or business. In fact it’s got a pretty tough job! It has to instill confidence in your customers, embody your ethos and services whilst remaining simple yet memorable – quite a complicated task!
So what makes a logo work?
For a logo to really jump off the page and slap you around the face it must abide by a few requirements. It must be SIMPLE enough to work at various sizes from the smallest corner of a leaflet to several feet wide, spread across a company vehicle. It’s got to be an EYE-CATCHING design and if necessary work both as full colour and monochrome. However, most importantly it has to be MEMORABLE! Thankfully I have done this a few times before so you’re in good hands.
Knowledge is the key
When I look to start a logo design project I need to gather as much information from you as possible to gain a full understanding of your business or organisation, the products or services you offer and what the logo should represent. Dependant on your budget I’ll either meet with you directly to gather all this information and to listen and discuss your ideas or I will supply you with a questionnaire with all the questions I’ll require answering. This will allow me to develop a clear brief and set of objectives which will be agreed with you and will set our creative pulses pumping!
But it’s no good just jumping head first into the creative stage without conducting full market research. I’ll start out by examining your competitors and gaining a thorough understanding of your marketplace and the environment in which your logo must succeed. I’ll also examine your target audience so that I really understand what makes them tick.
It’s all about the ideas!
The next stage in my design process is to stick my creative hat on and start brainstorming as many ideas as possible, no matter how far-fetched as you’ll be amazed what can be sparked from the most illogical idea. However I don’t do this by just simply jumping straight on the computer, I get out our trusty pencil and pad and start doodling a range of concept ideas until I am happy I have arrived at 3 solutions that answer your brief. Now I can fire up my Mac and mock-up the options digitally for you to consider. Because this stage is about getting the idea and message nailed down, the mock-up concepts presented are likely to be in monochrome as I don’t want you to be distracted by colour at this stage and discount an idea for this reason.
The finer detail
Following your feedback I will continue to develop the chosen concept idea further. I’ll begin to refine the logo form, font choice, font weight and possible colour schemes until I am at a stage in which further defined options can be presented back to you for feedback. Once I have obtained this from you I can put the finishing touches to the design by concentrating on the perfect font choice, kerning, colours, straplines and inverse colour schemes until it is perfect!
Passing the finish line!
On completion of your finished logo I’ll happily supply you with all the file types you’ll required to be used across all print and web mediums and I am always happy to discuss any further requirements in terms of developing the brand across the rest of your collateral whether it’s producing a stationery suite including business cards or throughout your company brochure or website.
If your company or service logo and branding is likely to be used by external partners, you may wish to consider the development of a set of branding guidelines that will not only ensure the correct and consistent usage of your logo or mark but will ensure the full control of your branding strategy. Thankfully I’m pretty good at developing these so I’m happy to quote for these in addition to your logo requirements.
